About the Artists.
Hello!
I'm a 21yr old artist from Milton Keynes, UK.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember.
I started off drawing cats as they were the first animal I recognised, I would spend hours (And still do) Studying my cat as she padded around the house. After a short phase of cats, cut short by Shellys (The cat) tragic death, I started to draw horses. The horse phase started at age 5 when I began to horse ride. Soon after that I saw The Lion King and was mesmerized and I knew instantly what I wanted to be when I grew up, an artist! I drew and drew and drew, then at the age of 7 I got my own pony so the horses came back on the scene. It just so happened that the release of the film Lion king 2: Simba's Pride coincided with the sale of my horse, so lions were back!
In 2005 I found a place called The Lion King Fan-art Archive, I never thought a website like that would exist! I uploaded my first picture after a few weeks of debating whether I should join or not. I was soon welcomed by lovely new friends who made me feel very loved and who actually liked my art. After four great years I am still going strong and I am the most prolific artist and have achieved Artist of the Month!
I later found a site called deviantART and started uploading pictures of animals that had no connection with The Lion King universe. I found so many wonderful equine artists which made me want to improve my own art, so I got to work .
At first I found it very difficult, I'd not drawn horses for a few years and I felt like I was trying to learn how to draw them all over again! After talking with another artist, I realised that art doesn't just happen over night, you really have to put your heart into it and practise every day! So, I practised and practised, slowly improving with each picture.
I'm going to continue to draw everyday and hopefully improve my art a lot more!
I wonder what the future holds!
